North East & Yorkshire

Leeds and Bradford Friendship Group is a local social group with about 70 members, singles and couples, aged 50-80+, from all over Leeds and Bradford. Annual subscription 5. We welcome new members.

Monthly Meetings

We meet on the first Wednesday of each month at Pudsey Civic Hall, just off the Leeds Ring Road at Dawson's Corner near Owlcotes Shopping Centre. The doors open by 1.00 p.m., and we have a speaker or entertainment from 2.00 p.m. We then break for tea and chat, with a raffle, quiz, and information about our forthcoming activities ending at 4.00 p,m. Our welcome ensures that members make friendships at the meetings. Meeting entrance fee 2.50, including refreshments.

Our Other Activities

Outings: Marcelle and her team of helpers arrange outings for (usually) the third Wednesday in the month. In the Winter they are generally local but from April the outings are mostly day coach trips to places of interest further afield. Our December outing is a coach trip to a restaurant for a mid-day Christmas Dinner.

Singles Diners: Marie manages the list of single diners who choose local pubs and restaurants to dine out together on the fourth Wednesday of the month.

Twosomes Diners: Twosome (not necessarily couples) dining outings are held monthly on various dates towards the end of the month to a variety of local restaurants. Roy and Jean manage the list.

Other Activities: We arrange an annual Beetle Drive with a Strawberry Tea, Theatre Trips and Christmas entertainment. Members are encouraged to suggest and organise Group events (with approval of the Committee).
